7-11-25 THOUGHTS
Trials can take on many forms. Enduring to approval is our goal. God is ever on our side in this living process. It is common to man! 1Cor 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” Our part in this war is to deal with our LUSTS... our DESIRES! James says the process leads to DEATH if it is allowed to run its course! Heb 10:39 “But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.”
Jas 1:12-15 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. 15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.
Gal 5:16 “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.”
1John 2:15-17 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
A Prayer:
Father, deliver us from evil and all of its devices. Anchor us to Yourself by our faith in Christ Jesus. Increase our faith, dear God. Give us eager joy in our search to know You in Your fullness. May our joy in living be to please You, our Father, and not the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Teach us to walk by the Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
